History

Robin Summers established the firm in 1963, for clients who wanted a high level of professionalism together with common-sense advice. He was joined in 1991 by his son Alistair Summers after he qualified with Price WaterhouseCoopers (Coopers & Lybrand)

The firm began specialising in tax and accountancy. It has expanded over the last thirty years into giving general strategic advice with specialisms in providing Private Office support, corporate advice and all aspects of negotiation.

Today, it has extensive expertise in HMRC enquiries, capital gains tax, inheritance tax, corporate tax, payroll, US Federal and State tax, entrepreneurial and owner manager disposals and mergers, risk, valuations, divorce settlements, negotiations and management of family offices.

The Firm are general practitioners working with a wide network of specialists to ensure their clients are advised by the best in the field.  The Office in Marylebone, facilitates access to a wide range of professionals and clients.  The Firm only accepts clients by referral and limits the number of clients it accepts by the desire for the Partners to recognise them in person or by phone.

Robin Summers

Robin Summers established the Practice and is a General Practitioner.

He advises on tax, accounting and common sense. He has extensive HMRC enquiry experience built up over many years.

He particularly enjoys helping those at the beginning and the end of their careers. There are not many issues in general practice that he has not seen.

He has sat on a number of specialist committees including those for the National Audit Office, Bank of England and the Tax Faculty of the Institute of Chartered Accountants of England & Wales.

Robin is a Fellow of Institute of Chartered Accountants of England & Wales.

Alistair Summers

Alistair Summers trained and qualified at PriceWaterhouseCoopers (when it was Coopers & Lybrand).

Alistair advises on tax planning and compliance for the UK and US and has led on a number of HMRC enquires involving valuation and tax computational work.   
 
He has experience of running entrepreneurial businesses and now advises others in getting businesses ready for sale and supporting those through the process.  This work has led to further valuation experience and a speciality in all types of negotiation.  He has worked in finding financial settlements in divorce and Shadow Joint Single Expert reviews.

Alistair also advises a number of offices and trusts on comercial and operational matters. 
 
He is a Trustee of the Prince’s Trust, Prince’s Trust International and the Royal Free Charity. 
 
Alistair is a Fellow of Institute of Chartered Accountants of England & Wales.
